KERPA is a Canadian Registered Charity, founded in 2016, with the goal of helping the most critically ill and injured patients in the Kootenay Region. We send a volunteer Emergency Response Physician to immediate threat to life 911 calls to help save lives and support to the Emergency Services.

KERPA acknowledges, respects and honors the First Nations in whose traditional territories KERPA serves and all Aboriginal people residing within the Kootenay Region.
We are 100% funded by public donations, grants and sponsorships from organizations, businesses and local government agencies
In 2021, KERPA received Special Operations Medical Retrieval accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS). This certifies that KERPA meets rigorous standards for patient care and safety.
KERPA is the first Emergency Medical Service in Canada and third in the world to receive this accreditation.
